Apparently there is a name limit when using auto connect. A user has reported that shortening the iPad name has allowed him to connect his iPads via wifi. He had an unusually long name and that was preventing his wifi from connecting two iPads. So if you are having problems auto connecting, please check the length of your iPad name.
